The story opens
A lantern is lit. A path appears. The story sets the scene — a forest hush, a castle on the hill, a sky mapped in constellations — then pauses at the first fork and asks: which way, wonder?
How it works
Our story opens in second person, you. At every turn, the reader chooses which way to go. Want to try a different path? Go back, choose again, and meet a different ending.
A lantern is lit. A path appears. The story sets the scene — a forest hush, a castle on the hill, a sky mapped in constellations — then pauses at the first fork and asks: which way, wonder?
Each pause is a real decision. Follow the fireflies. Climb toward the castle. Trace a line of stars. The story continues from the choice the reader made — not from a hidden script that ignores them.
The tale is not a single corridor. A later choice can swing the mood, the companion, the secret, the last page. Two readers can start the same story and finish in two different worlds.
After a story is finished, the reader can walk back to any break, pick the other way, and watch a new ending take shape. Curiosity is the point. There is always another path.
